Following the earthquakes on November 3 and 4, PHASE Nepal has already been able to organise support for ca. 200 families.
The epicentre of the first tremor of 5.7 on the Richter scale was in Jajarkot and Rukum, to the south of PHASE’s project areas. We are happy to report that there were no casualities in PHASE project communities, although some houses, incluiding PHASE staff’s living quarters, were damaged. Immediately after the first earthquake, PHASE Nepal contacted the district authorities of the two hardest-hit districts and offered help. Only a few days later, PHASE already distributted tarpaulins and blankets.
